While the primary component of the Data for Student Success (Data 4SS) project is professional development, the essential tool is the MI School Data/Data 4SS Inquiry Tool.  This tool uses data submitted to the state through the regular submission process and combines it with state assessment data.  The result is a dynamic inquiry tool that allows the user to query the data online, through secure permission-based login.

It is important to note:

-This tool should not be used in isolation-the modules have activities that support and guide the educator in how to use the inquiry tool to make informed decisions.

-This tool is not a warehouse - it is a data mining tool of historical state data.

-It should be use together with a local warehouse that uses current data that incorporates both state and local assessments.

-Access to the tool requires permission from your local school district administration.  Their access is given by their ISD/RESA.  Please see Contact US page for a list of ISD/RESA and their contact information.

-Why does access require permission?  Visit our data confidentiality.
