While the primary component of the Data for Student Success project is professional development, the essential tool is the Data Inquiry Tool. This tool uses data submitted to the state through the regular submission process and combines it with state assessment data. The result is a dynamic tool that allows the user to query the data online, through secure permission-based log in.

It is important to note:

  • This tool should not be used in isolation - the modules have activities that help guide the educator in how to use the inquiry tool to make informed decisions
  • This tool is not a data warehouse - it is a data mining tool of historical state data. It should be used together with a local data warehouse that uses current data that incorporates state and local assessments
  • Access to this tool requires permission from your local school district administration. Their access is give by their ISD/RESA. Please see Contact Us page for a list of ISDs/RESAs and their contact information.
  • Why does access require permission? Visit our data confidentiality.
